Clinical Bodywork

A unique approach to pain management.

"About 1 1/2 years ago I was in extreme pain all up and down my body.  I went to the Dr. and they wanted to put me on prednisone for two years.  I wasn't ready to do that because of a lot of serious side effects.  I asked some friends who had dealt with serious pain issues where they had gotten help.  I was given Adam's name.  He worked on me for a few sessions and my pain was gone.  Since then I  go to him whenever I have pain that doesn't go away on its own.  It always helps." - Rick

"One appointment was due to bad lower back pain.  I couldn’t run, stand up straight, or really function normally. After Adam worked on me, I left feeling almost ready to run again which was a huge improvement in basically an hour appointment! Other visits were check-ups to make sure my body was prepared for an upcoming big race.

I highly recommend Adam to anyone seeking help.  Whether you’re dealing with stubborn athletic injuries that haven’t improved elsewhere (I already refer my athletes to him), or just need support with everyday movement. Adam truly works magic and will have you feeling better and back on your feet in no time!" - Sarah

"I’ve seen Adam several times for ongoing back and hip issues. Adam has a great ability to assess what is wrong and get to the root cause of the issue. His knowledge of how the body uses muscles to move and ability to then apply body work and exercises to resolve issues and provide relief is outstanding. I really appreciate his attention to detail and follow up to measure progress." - Wes

More than just massage.

Clinical bodywork is a combination of manipulative techniques, including massage, intended to reduce pain through soft tissue mobilization and the restoration of healthy neuromuscular patterns.

Individualized.

Each session is tailored specifically for the client's body.  No two bodies are exactly the same so no two treatments should be either.

A thorough assessment.

After objectively listening to the client's history, the session begins with a thorough assessment. This includes: mobility, strength and orthopedic testing, postural and gait analysis, and more.

Active.

Generally clients are active participants in the healing process.  Clients are asked to activate certain muscle groups in order to stretch and re-educate neurological patterns.  As a result, clients wear athletic clothes during the session without the need of a top sheet.

Goal oriented.

The end goal is client independence from regular medical intervention.  Ideally after only 2-3 sessions the client will have enough pain reduction that pain management can be done at home.  Recommended exercises are provided to help facilitate this transition away from care.

  • Clinical bodywork is a good option for clients who:

    • are at any age or stage of life

    • have already tried traditional methods of medical care and not seen lasting changes

    • wish to avoid surgery or lifelong medication for treating symptoms

    • generally prefer more alternative or natural methods of medical care

    • desire longer, private one-on-one sessions with a practitioner

    • want to be an activate participant in their health plan, be educated

    • seek to better understand their own body and find ways to move pain free
